H-OI at the Expo Riva Schuh
The H-OI footwear experts presented their selection at the Italian fair for the first time.
Every year in January and June, the shoe fair in Riva at Garda Lake, Italy, is the top spot for all shoes buyers to get inspiration for the new season and plan orders ahead. More than 13,000 visitors strolled through 32,500 square metre trade fair at this year’s event in June.
The Expo Riva Schuh takes place very early in the fashion fair calendar. It includes 1,408 exhibitors from 40 countries. Many well-known German importers present their products there.
H-OI Italy has always been present on their home turf together with some suppliers. However, following some discussions last winter, we decided to go for a different approach starting with the June 2016 fair.
‘From our point of view, it has been a good opportunity to bring our most important shoe market China and our European operations in Italy (and Turkey) closer together to attract customers with a wider range of shoes. Furthermore, it was our aim to present Hermes-OTTO International as a relevant service provider for shoes, so that we might attract new customers as well as provide our existing customers with a central point of contact.
So we reshaped and refreshed our existing “Italy booth” but kept the space that Italy has been using for years for our first test appearance. The key was to have a booth which is easier to access and which is more attractive to visitors so they can be introduced to our products. The products were chosen by our experts. We presented products from China, Italy and Turkey.’ says Heiko Drews, Regional Director Europe at H-OI.
Andrew Mcauley, Product Manager Footwear, adds ‘All our existing customers who attended the fair also visited us during the three day-period. In addition, the show drew in a number of potential customers, with some of them making contact with us a few weeks after the show.
We had a good presence at the show thanks to our modern trade fair booth and the well-presented range of shoes from China, Vietnam, Turkey and Italy, which provided potential customers with the perfect selection of items from our array of assorted products. There was a good atmosphere throughout the show.”
We’re off to a good start, and after this first test, we will continue to attend the trade fair in 2017. Discussions about the location and a bigger, maybe more modern booth have already started.
We will inform our customers about our January 2017 appearances in the last quarter of 2016.
