Our new quarterly topic: Supplier Portraits

Thailand. Knitwear.

Yamaken Apparel Co., Ltd. – the Japanese owned manufacturer of knitted sweaters was established in 1984. With four factories, employing around 2000 people located in Thailand (Samut Prakan, Mae Sot, and Chaiyaphum) and Laos they are H-OI Bangkok’s largest supplier.

H-OI Bangkok is also Yamaken’s biggest customer, using 80% of their total production capacity of 1,600,000 pieces per year.

Yamaken has long seen the value of innovation and back in 2007 was the first flat knit supplier to produce pullover garments in natural fibers combined with CmiA. It is also the first flat knit supplier to establish a factory in Laos whose market provides the GSP Form A.

Yamaken has worked with H-OI Bangkok for more than 20 years. We are very pleased to present them this Gold Level Award for achieving outstanding delivery performance and excellent merchandise quality. “On behalf of all Yamaken employees we are very proud to accept this award, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication. We continually strive to improve our performance in all areas and value our long-standing partnership with H-OI Bangkok,” said Morita San (Owner) and Hara San (Managing Director).

Turkey. Circular Knit.

Employing around 165 employees directly, with another 500 or so via their subcontractors, Mosi Tekstil Sanayi Ve Ticaret Ltd Sti was founded in 2005 and is located in Izmir, Turkey. They have partnered with H-OI Turkey since 2007 and are specialized in the manufacturing of womenswear, mainly circular knit.

Mosi understand very well the pressures faced by our industry and are a very creative supplier able to turn round orders extremely quickly. Their recent decision to start off shore production in Albania with a Cut, Make, Trim (CMT) business model is evidence of their forward planning and ability to adapt to market conditions. They also place great value on ethical and responsible business practices in their supply chain and both Mosi Tekstil and all sub-contractors are BSCI and SEDEX audited.
